WE INVITE YOU TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH INFORMATION ABOUT OUR REGION
Stalowa Wola over San is surrounded by Forests Of Sandomierz. Is one the youngest cities in Poland – its construction started in 1937, under the plan of the Central Industrial District. The author and initiator of this plan was then Deputy Prime Minister and Treasury minister Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski.
Today, Stalowa Wola is the second in terms of the numbers of inhabitants of Podkarpackie Voivodeship. One of the districts of the city, the former Rozwadow, is a village founded by Gabriel Rozwadowski in 1690. It was the property of named Rozwadowski, and since the beginning of the 18th century the Lubomirski family. The regional Museum, housed in former residence of Lubomirski, built 1786, is something to be seen. See also, the Church and convent of Capuchins, built from the foundation of the Lubomirski family in the 18th century, the parish church from years 1898-1907, the original synagogue founded in the 19th century, the old market and two historic Inns of the 18th-19th century. In the centre of Stalowa Wola is a wooden church dedicated to St. Florian from 1802 (in 1943, moved here from Stany viilage) with a free-standing Bell Tower from 11th century, as well as the modern parish church dedicated to Our Lady Queen of Polish, built from 1958 to 1973, where for many years Stalowowolskie Organ Concerts were held. For 15 years in Stalowa Wola is branch of the Catholic University of Lublin, and in a nearby Turbia is the field of Stalowowolski Aeroclub.
